What does it mean to be a Hommeet Host?

Hosting on Hommeet opens up the world to your passion or knowledge. You make families in your communities and from around the world feel connected and give access to play and learning activities. Create your activities, receive bookings and meet people and share your passion. You and your families will make new friends or playmates in the process.

Who can become a host?

Hommeet hosts are parents and individuals who love kids and are passionate about running activities for the little ones or have valuable knowledge to share with the families in their communities. You don’t need any previous experience of hosting an activity. All you need is a passion or knowledge that would be interesting for the families and their little ones.

For Home Enrichment Class – the host need to have a qualification or at least 2 years experiences in conducting the class he/she want to offer. Subject to approval.

How do I become a host?

Simply sign up here . You will receive a host login and details on how to submit your activity in 3 days.

What is an activity?

Create an activity that children will enjoy, learn or just do more of what you love . There’s no limit to what you can do. It can be something you are passionate about (for example: an introduction to pottery & kids cooking class ), knowledge you have (for example: yoga & piano), or something your kid love to do.

Can you give me a sample list of activity categories that i can organise?

  • Soft skills – communication, social skills, leadership, teamwork etc.
  • Life skills/practical skills – etiquette, cooking, financial literacy, pet care, jungle survival skills etc.
  • Learning different culture/languages.
  • Speak with confidence – drama, public speaking etc.
  • Connect with nature & animals
  • Eco-education
  • Motor skills/sensory play
  • Problem solving/ critical thinking – coding, S.T.E.A.M etc.
  • Special interest – pottery, photography, horse riding, gardening etc
  • Overseas learning trip/ nature adventure/field trip

What are the requirements for activities?

Suitable for families and safe for children.

Any commitment to reservations?

Hosts must honor all booked activities with minimum 2 bookings, unless there is a valid emergency or unavoidable circumstance.

Where can i host my activity offline?

Home! Your home is a place where friends meet, family gathers, love grows and host your Hommeet session!  However, some of you may need to find other venue that is more spacious or more accessible. You can consider to run at public places like parks and playgrounds or community-oriented places like community centers, libraries and condo function room for minimal costs.

For those who don’t have the venue, Hommeet will match the host with the home venue providers (our members) The host in return need to offer the child of venue provider to attend for free for using her venue.

Can I set my own schedule & price?

Of course. You choose when to host and how much you’d like to earn.

Can I host multiple activities?

Yes. There is no limit to how many activities you can host.

How and when do I get paid?

Hommeet automatically withholds Activity Fee(s) from Host payouts after a completed booking. Payouts are released within 7 days  after  the class is delivered.

Payouts to educators are made every Tuesday.

We offer commission-free listings; however, there is a 0.9% payment gateway fee as we collect payments via Paynow through the HitPay payment gateway.

What does it cost to be a host on Hommeet?

Free!

To empower educators and freelancers, our platform offers comprehensive support at no cost, providing free booking, payment processing and class management system. With us, there are no listing fees or platform charges. Additionally, we don’t take any commission from direct sign-ups through our platform.
Furthermore, we provide earning opportunities for educators by forming classes and connecting them with our business clients and our members, including preschools and government organisations, on an hourly or project basis.

Do I need to report my earnings?

By offering your services as a host, you earn income. You are responsible for following all applicable laws and tax requirements in your country. Hosts are advised to consult their nearest local tax offices or their tax advisors as to their specific tax consequences.

Do I need a business license?

Depending on activities involved, certain experiences may require a business license. Make sure to check local laws in your area to determine which licenses may be required for your experience, especially if there is food, alcohol, or transportation involved.

Can I host with someone else?

If you want to host with one other person, make sure their name is mentioned on your activity listing so that participants know who they’ll be with. They’ll also need to sign up as Hommeet host.
